- Fighter Serhiy Demchenko, call sign (Camel), was killed on September 7, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Pisky in Donetsk region. He did not live to see his 33rd birthday by 6 days. Serhiy was born in the village of Bereka in Kharkiv region. He served his mandatory military service in the ranks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He graduated from Kryvyi Rih Construction Vocational Technical School No. 14, specializing as a painter-plasterer. He worked in his field. He led an active lifestyle, engaged in sports, loved nature, enjoyed fishing, and went hunting with friends. During the full-scale invasion in March 2022, Serhiy was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of driver in the counter-battery warfare radar platoon of the control battery and artillery reconnaissance of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. "Serhiy was a bright, kind-hearted, caring, and cheerful person. He took care of everyone he loved. For all who knew him, he was an example of courage, resilience, and steadfastness. He left behind two children whom he loved dearly. Serhiy was the best dad, always dreamed of walking his daughter down the aisle and teaching his son to wrestle. He was very energetic, with a wonderful sense of humor. He never refused anyone. He could always encourage and instill hope like no one else. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he did not hesitate to stand up for the defense of Ukraine. He believed in victory with all his heart! He was a reliable support for his comrades! We miss him very much! Forever in our hearts!" said the deceased's ex-wife, Lesya. The fighter was buried in the village of Verblyuzhka in Kirovohrad region. Serhiy is survived by his father, brother, daughter, son, and fiancée.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
