- Dysko Serhiy Stepanovych was born on January 28, 1999, in the village of Vetly in the Lyubeshiv district of the Volyn region. For over 4 years, Senior Sergeant Serhiy Dysko dedicated himself to serving the Ukrainian people and fulfilling his military duty. During his service in the 1st Border Guard Detachment, Serhiy held the position of inspector of the border service of the 2nd category - driver of the 2nd group of border service inspectors of the inspectorate division of the border service department "Mariupol" (Type B). On February 24, 2022, Serhiy Dysko, like thousands of other border guards in the northern, eastern, and southern territories of Ukraine, courageously faced the Russian aggressor. From the first days of the full-scale war, Serhiy Dysko fought side by side with the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the special operations unit of the National Guard "Azov," bravely and selflessly carrying out combat missions to defend the city of Mariupol under conditions of complete blockade. Every day, the enemy did not cease attempts at offensive actions, using aviation, artillery, and mortars. Fierce battles raged almost next to the location of the border guards, with the city's areas constantly shelled by various types of weapons. Senior Sergeant Serhiy Dysko, as part of a group, engaged in fierce battles against superior enemy forces reinforced by tanks. From April 30, 2022, the serviceman carried out combat missions in the Left Bank area and on the territory of the "Azovstal" plant. On May 8, around 21:00, during combat duty at the observation post "Dark," Serhiy was killed by a sniper's bullet. For his courage and selfless actions demonstrated while fulfilling his official duties to ensure the protection of Ukraine's interests at its state border, Senior Sergeant Dysko Serhiy Stepanovych was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the 3rd degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
