Serhii S. Huts

Born on August 20, 1990, in the urban-type settlement of Luhyny, Luhynskyi District, Zhytomyr Oblast. Graduated from general education school No. 2 in the urban-type settlement of Luhyny. Since 2009, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 13th separate airborne battalion of the 95th separate airborne brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1910, Zhytomyr city). Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On September 4, 2014, senior soldier Huts was killed while performing a combat mission in the area of the city of Vuhledar, Donetsk Oblast. On September 10, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the urban-type settlement of Luhyny, Luhynskyi District, Zhytomyr Oblast. On October 7, 2014, a memorial plaque was opened for him on the facade of the building of general education school No. 2 (12 Tserkovna Street) in the urban-type settlement of Luhyny, where Serhiy Huts studied.
