Serhii S. Koren (Syvyi)

Soldier Serhiy Koren (call sign Sivyi) was killed in action on July 28, 2022, during an enemy tank shelling in the area of the village of Shyroke, Mykolaiv region. Exactly one month before his death, the defender turned 43 years old. Serhiy was born in the city of Kovel on Volyn. The man loved to do something with his own hands, so he had a hobby - he repaired cars. He also loved to go mushroom picking, loved fishing. In 2014-2015, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under mobilization. He took part in the ATO. With the beginning of the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the first days. He was a shooter-sanitarian. As part of his unit, Sivyi went to defend Ukraine from Russian occupiers for the second time. However, this time the defender did not return from the war. "He was a cheerful person, the soul of the company and any family celebration. He was a help to his mother and everyone who turned to him. He was building a house with his wife and plans for the future, believed in a happy old age in Ukraine, on his own land. We still can't believe that he is no longer among the living. We are very sad and at the same time very proud of him. We thank him and every Hero," - said his cousin Maria. The serviceman was buried on the Alley of Glory in his native Kovel. Serhiy left behind his mother, two older brothers, his wife and son.
