Serhii S. Matyshchak (Khlopchyk)

Matishchak Serhii Serhiiovych was born on October 21, 1984, in the village of Yablunka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 2002, he graduated from Yablunivska Secondary School. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After that, he completed security guard courses and worked in the field for some time. He was an activist of the Revolution of Dignity. In 2015-2020, he studied by correspondence at the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine. He received a diploma in the specialty "Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy (Physical Rehabilitation)". He was a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war. In 2014, he volunteered to defend Ukraine. As part of the Aidar battalion, he took part in the fiercest battles, in particular, defending the Donetsk airport. He was wounded. He served in the 130th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion and the 109th Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss". He died on August 9, 2022, during a tank shelling near the town of Zaitseve, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region. On August 13, 2022, he was buried with due honors in the local cemetery in the village of Yablunka.
