Serhii S. Mazurov (Dulitl)

Junior Sergeant Serhii Mazurov (call sign Doolitle) died on November 13, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. The defender was forever 25 years old. The soldier was born in the city of Yuzhne (now Pivdenne) in the Odesa region. He obtained the profession of a pharmacist at the Kharkiv National Pharmaceutical University. He worked as a specialist in a pharmacy. He played chess. He had the rank of Candidate Master of Sports. During the full-scale war, he defended the country as part of the 126th separate brigade of the territorial defense. He held the position of combat medic of the 1st rifle platoon of the 1st rifle company. "Comrades-in-arms said that Serhii never sat in a dugout and did not wait for the wounded to be brought to him, he always went himself under intense shelling. This is what my son did on the day of his death - he went under intense fire to save a comrade-in-arms and received a fatal shrapnel wound. My only child, my everything. Smart, polite, friendly, caring, decent. He always helped everyone. He rescued animals. Serhii's comrades-in-arms still remember him, they gave me the brigade flag with his photo. They often call me, give me flowers. Three poems have been written about the son. He loved life, lived it worthily, loved the people around him, was a faithful friend," said his mother Liubov Vasylivna. The defender was buried in his hometown. Serhii Mazurov was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Pivdenne". Posthumously, the defender was awarded a certificate of honor and mourning. The Olympic Committee issued a calendar "Angels of Sports", which honored the memory of the fallen warrior.
