- 28-year-old soldier Serhii Nebozhak (call sign Viking) was killed on January 16, 2023 in a battle with the occupants in Soledar, Donetsk region. Serhii was born in the village of Pavlivka, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the local school. He worked as a long-distance truck driver with his own truck. He had a fiancée, with whom he dreamed of having his own house, children, and traveling. He led a healthy lifestyle and was involved in sports. The young man was on the Maidan during the Revolution of Dignity. In 2014, he was engaged in volunteer activities. From the first days of the full-scale war, he helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, he delivered ammunition. In June, he received a summons and went to defend the Motherland. He fought as part of the 46th separate air assault brigade. He held the position of driver. He took part in the liberation of Kherson, in the battles for Bakhmut, and then for Soledar. He was twice blown up by a mine while in a vehicle, was wounded, but always returned to the ranks. "If people saw him once in their life, they would never forget him. Because he had so much energy and positivity that it was impossible to forget him. He was always smiling. He protected and pitied everyone around him. And he never complained. He believed that being at war was his mission, that he had to be there, had to go first. He was not afraid of anything. When his guys came, they said he was responsible for adequacy. He always had a cool mind and a desire to move forward," said the deceased's niece Anastasia. The hero was buried in his native village.
