Serhii S. Petryk (Piat)

Sergiy Petryk (call sign Pyat), a special forces soldier, was killed on December 9, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the Ochakiv area of Mykolaiv region. He was 24 years old. Sergiy was from the village of Krychylsk in Rivne region and lived in the village of Pavoloch in Zhytomyr region. He graduated from Pavoloch secondary school, served in the military, and worked at the construction company "Novi metry". During the full-scale Russian invasion, Sergiy fought against the occupiers as part of one of the special operations units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He carried out complex combat missions and sincerely believed in victory over the enemy, but did not live to see it. Sergiy was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree. He is survived by his parents, sister, and brother. The community remembers him as a great optimist, a warrior at heart, and a person who embodied dignity and honor.
