Serhii S. Pohribnyi

Serhii Serhiiovych Pohribnyi was born on March 17, 1981, in the village of Katerynivka, Kropyvnytskyi district, Kirovohrad region. He moved with his family to the city of Znamianka when he was studying in the ninth grade. He graduated from the local school No. 3. He studied at vocational school No. 12. In 2012-2015, Serhii Pohribnyi worked at the Ukrzaliznytsia enterprise as a fitter and foreman. Since 2015, he has participated in the war in eastern Ukraine. He served 8 years under contract as part of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. The fighter's greatest dream was to liberate the cities of Berdyansk and Volnovakha from the occupiers. He was killed on April 22, 2022, during an artillery shelling in the Kharkiv region, saving his comrade. The farewell ceremony took place on April 27, 2022, in the city of Znamianka, Kirovohrad region, on the Square of Maidan Heroes. He was buried in the city of Znamianka.
