Serhii S. Rysai (Yuryst)

Junior Sergeant Serhiy Rysai (call sign Lawyer) was killed on September 13, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk region. The defender was 49 years old. Serhiy was born in the village of Hryhorivka in the Kharkiv region. He obtained a higher education at the Donetsk Institute of Entrepreneurship. He lived with his family in Donetsk region, in the city of Kurakhove. He worked as a legal advisor at the Marinka Primary Health Care Center. In his free time, he enjoyed sports. During the full-scale war, he defended Ukraine as part of the 503rd Separate Marine Battalion of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "He helped people, judged no one. He was kind and responsible. A good husband and father, a caring son," said the defender's wife, Olena. "There is no way to prepare for grief, no words to heal the burning wound of eternal separation from a dear person for relatives, friends, comrades, colleagues... Smart, reliable, kind, responsible, sociable — this is how we will always remember Serhiy Serhiyovych," noted the Marinka military administration. The serviceman was buried in Kurakhove in the Donetsk region. Serhiy is survived by his mother, wife, and two sons.
