Serhii S. Senyk

Senyik Serhii Serhiiovych was born on February 26, 1987, in the village of Zvirivka, Novoukrainskyi district, Kirovohrad region. He stuwas killed at the local school and, in the senior classes, was a student at Novoukrainska School No. 4. After finishing school, he enrolled in a machine engineering college. During his compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he underwent training at the 169th Training Center "Desna." He continued military service in the tank troops, received the rank of junior sergeant, and was a tank commander. After completing his contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he attended vocational school to master the profession of a railway worker and worked as an assistant locomotive engineer. Since 2014, for almost 4 years, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in Eastern Ukraine as part of the Marine Corps. He fought in the battles for the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha. During his service in ATO/JFO, he commanded a platoon and was wounded. He was awarded an order and 7 medals. After demobilization, he worked in Odesa as a foreman at a canning factory. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was called up to the military by mobilization and was on the front line. He held the position of tank commander. He was killed on March 14, 2022, near the village of Chervone in Mykolaiv region. The fallen soldier was buried on April 2, 2022, in the Alley of Heroes of the Novoukrainska community.
