- Soldier Serhii Yachalo (call sign Makhno) was killed on November 5, 2022 near the village of Chervonopopivka in the Luhansk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the defender came under enemy artillery fire and received fatal injuries. He was forever 37 years old. Serhii was born and lived in Huliaipole, Zaporizhia region. He graduated from Huliaipole Vocational School No. 28 and obtained the profession of painter-plasterer. In 2015-2017, he worked at the "Motor Sich" enterprise in his hometown. He was a repair mechanic and grew as a specialist - when he left, he had the IV category. From 2019, he worked at the Huliaipole Utility Company "Blahoustriiservis" first as a worker, then as a road worker. He was fond of fishing. He loved to solve Japanese crosswords. He spent his free time with his family. He loved to watch cartoons with the children and play. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his relatives, home and country from the occupiers. He served in the 25th separate airborne Sich brigade. He held the position of radio operator of the anti-aircraft artillery platoon. "Serhii was a loving husband and father. He was a sensitive, kind, cheerful person. He loved his mother, children and me very much. He always helped his relatives He was sociable and had many friends. A patriot of his country, he volunteered for the army to defend us," said the wife of the deceased Alina. Serhii was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Kushuhum cemetery in Zaporizhia.
