- Senior soldier Serhii Yavorskyi (call sign Java) was killed on June 23, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Starykove in the Sumy region. A group of Ukrainian soldiers was moving in a vehicle when they encountered an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group, who opened fire on the vehicle. In July, the soldier would have turned 40 years old. Serhii was born in the settlement of Pershotravneve, Zhytomyr region. He lived in the village of Sloboda-Sholomikvska. After school, he graduated from Ovruch Vocational School No. 35, obtaining the profession of an electrician. He served his conscription military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2015 to 2019, he served in the border troops. During the full-scale invasion, the man voluntarily went to defend the country. He served in the 54th separate reconnaissance battalion named after Mykhailo Tyshch. He was the commander of the reconnaissance unit - the vehicle commander. He carried out complex tasks at the front line and always bravely went into battle. "He was a loving husband, father, good son, brother, friend, and comrade. He was a true patriot of his country, dedicating many years of his life to military service. During the full-scale invasion, he did not stand aside and went to defend our state, giving his life for it. We are proud of our hero and will forever remember him!" - said the fallen soldier's daughter Iryna. The scout was buried in the village of Sholomky, in his native Zhytomyr region. At home, Serhii was awaited by his wife Tetiana, daughters Kateryna and Iryna, and sons Ivan and Andrii.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
