Serhii V. Ahatii

Soldier Serhii Ahatii was killed on December 6, 2022 in the area of the settlement of Bilohirivka in the Luhansk region. While performing a combat mission, he came under enemy artillery fire and received fatal shrapnel wounds. The fighter was 33 years old. Serhii was born and lived in the village of Novomykolaivka, Odesa region. He graduated from a secondary school. He dreamed of serving in the police, but was not accepted into the army due to unfitness for service due to health reasons. Therefore, he obtained the profession of a tractor driver and mechanic at a technical school. He worked in various fields. He opened almost all driver's categories, as he planned to become a long-distance driver or a route transport driver. He loved driving cars very much. During the full-scale war, the man became a serviceman of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After training abroad, he replenished the ranks of the 90th separate airmobile battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. "I didn't just live with him, I breathed with him. He was everything to me. He was always the first. I loved my husband very much, thanked God for uniting us, was afraid to lose him. And now I'm very sad..." said Liudmyla Ahatii. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. At home, Serhii was awaited by his mother, wife, son and daughter. The children were 10 and 9 years old at the time of their father's death.
