Serhii V. Hroshev (Bablos)

Paratrooper Serhii Groshev (call sign Bablos) was killed on May 8, 2023, during a hostile missile strike on the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 35 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Serhiivka, Donetsk region. He lived in Kramatorsk. He graduated from the local secondary school No. 1. Then he went to work in Kyiv. Later, he started working abroad. In his free time, he loved to cook and listen to music. He got married and raised children. He bought a house for the family, which they did not have time to live in. In 2021, the man went on a contract military service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. He participated in the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas. During the full-scale invasion, he returned to the ranks of his native brigade and again stood up to defend his homeland from the occupiers. He held the position of an artillery division operator. "Serhii really wanted to defend his country. He always said: 'I have children, if not me, then who?'. He was in Bakhmut for 8 months. He always tried to help, never remained on the sidelines. He loved cars. He recently bought a house, but they did not have time to live in it with the family and create a fortress for the family. Serhii always said that we, his sisters, are three, and he is one brother. Therefore, we must love and cherish him," said the sister of the fallen Viktoriia. The warrior was buried on the Alley of Heroes in Kramatorsk. Serhii is survived by his mother, sisters, wife, and two sons.
