Serhii V. Khryshcheniuk

Soldier Serhii Khryshcheniuk was killed on May 23, 2024 while carrying out a combat mission in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region. The warrior was 47 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Korduschivka, Vinnytsia region. He studied at school No. 1 in Kozeiatyn, and then at the Zhytomyr Automobile Technical School. After graduating, he worked at the Kozeiatyn Inter-District Gas Management Department and studied at the Kyiv National University of Architecture and Construction. A year and a half before graduating from the university, his father passed away, so he had to leave his studies to be with his mother. For 15 years, the man worked at the Kozeiatyn locomotive depot of the "South-Western Railway" regional branch, where he held the position of a 6th category repair mechanic. In March 2024, Serhii was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training in the Kirovohrad region. Later, he served in the Kharkiv direction. "Serhii was a man of his word and deeds. There was no task that he could not handle. He was knowledgeable about machinery and enjoyed repairing it. He was also a person in whom a kind heart and a strong character were combined," his colleagues and friends said. And the neighbors said about him: "When Serhii goes, it's the sun, not a smile," because he was always smiling. The soldier was buried in the Alley of Glory of the local cemetery in Kozeiatyn. He left behind a son, mother, aunts, uncle, and nephews.
