Serhii V. Korol

Serviceman Serhii Korol (call sign Izia) died on April 20, 2022 during assault operations in the village of Oleksandrivka, Kherson region. The defender was 28 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Tarasivka, Odesa region. He obtained the profession of a computer typist. He lived in the city of Chornomorsk. He worked as a security guard at LLC "Aquafrost". In his free time, he loved to go fishing. During the full-scale war, he defended the country as part of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He was a grenade launcher of the grenade launcher platoon of the 2nd battalion. According to his comrades-in-arms, Serhii was a true hero. Fearless, brave, ideological, he always found a way out of any situation. He did not have military experience, but coped as if he had been fighting all his life. With a severe shrapnel wound, the brother went on his own, but, unfortunately, a pneumothorax began, and he did not survive, his elder brother Ruslan said. The defender could be buried in his native village only after 2 years - on March 30, 2024. Serhii left behind daughters Valeriia and Eva, brother Ruslan, and sisters Larysa, Maryna, and Iryna.
