Serhii V. Kostohryz

Soldier Serhii Kostohryз died on March 17, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. In February, the defender turned 45 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Potichok, Poltava region. In 1980, the family moved to the village of Suprotyvna Balka. There he received his education and the dream profession, which was closely related to agriculture. He worked as a driver, tractor operator, and combine harvester operator. He loved nature, animals, and sports (played football, volleyball, tennis, checkers, chess, billiards, hockey). He adored reading books and magazines of various genres. During the full-scale invasion, Serhii unhesitatingly went to defend his country from the enemy. He served in the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a grenadier of the 31st brigade named after Major General Oleksandr Radiievskyi. "Serhii Volodymyrovych gave his life for Ukraine, for its future, for the future of all of us. Sincere condolences to the relatives and loved ones of our defender! Eternal memory and glory to the hero!" - noted in the community. The warrior was buried in the village of Suprotyvna Balka, Poltava region. His mother Zinaida Panasivna, wife Liliia, daughter Olena, and sons Serhii and Mykola did not wait for their hero to return from the war. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
