Serhii V. Koval

Soldier Serhii Koval was killed on July 8, 2023 near the village of Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the soldier sustained a fatal mine-explosive injury. The following month, on August 10, he would have turned 51 years old. Serhii was born in the city of Uzyn, Kyiv region. After school, he obtained the profession of a painter-plasterer at a vocational school. However, he worked as a tractor-combine operator all his life. He was married and raised five children together with his beloved wife, and later enjoyed his grandchildren. He loved his family very much and always strived for a better and peaceful life for them. During the full-scale war, the man went to defend his family and the future of his native country. Serhii carried out combat missions in the ranks of the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the deputy commander of a combat vehicle, a gunner-operator. "Our dad was a loving husband, a good father and grandfather," said the deceased's daughter Lyudmyla. The warrior was buried in the village of Savyntsi in the Kyiv region, where he lived with his family. Serhii is survived by his wife, children, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
