Serhii V. Kovita

Kovita Serhii Valentynovych was born on July 24, 1995, in the village of Lebedyn, Shpolianskyi district, Cherkasy region. In November 2013, he enlisted in the military service under contract. Since 2014, he has participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he held the position of platoon commander of the 3rd mechanized company, 1st mechanized battalion, 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He was killed on May 5, 2022, during an artillery barrage while liberating the village of Ukrainka, Krasnohrad district, Kharkiv region. He was buried in his native village.
