Serhii V. Lishchuk (Liashch)

Soldier Serhii Lishchuk (call sign Lyashch) was killed on July 31, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the Krasnohorivka area in Donetsk region. The defender was 37 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Bohdanivka, Kirovohrad region. He graduated with a red diploma from the Kryvyi Rih Vocational School. He worked as a carpenter at the "Phoenix" furniture factory. He loved life, was passionate about fishing and cooking. During the full-scale Russian invasion, in November 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his country. He served in the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended Donetsk region. "Kind, honest, fair. He was respected at work for his sociability and good work. He was always there in a difficult moment. He had many friends. He was a good son, always ready to help. Reliable, friendly, worried about the future of his daughter, whom he loved more than anything. He said these words to me: 'If not me, then who will protect my daughter and you, mother?' " - said the mother of the fallen Tetiana. The paratrooper was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in Dolynska, Kirovohrad region. Serhii is survived by his parents, brother, sister, wife and daughter.
