Serhii V. Maksymchuk

Sergiy Maksymchuk (call sign Max), a soldier, died on August 2, 2024, during the repulsion of an enemy assault near the village of Novosadove in the Donetsk region. The defender was 43 years old. Sergiy was a resident of the city of Bar in the Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Kuzmynets Lyceum. In civilian life, he worked for himself, installing stretch ceilings. He spent his free time with his family. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man became a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 120th separate brigade of the territorial defense. He was a communications officer of the 170th battalion. "A real, courageous, brave man, but the heavens took you away from us. The best are dying, leaving a hole in the soul... You were a true hero who wanted to protect us, lived for the children, the family, did everything to make it good, but at what cost... I just don't believe you're gone, my love," wrote the wife of the fallen Nataliya Maksymchuk. "My dad was faithful to his country until his last breath," added his son Denys. Sergiy was buried in the Alley of Glory cemetery in the city of Bar. He is survived by his parents, wife, son, daughter, brothers, relatives and friends.
