Serhii V. Mokriak (Centr)

Soldier Serhii Mokriak (call sign Centr) was killed on September 5, 2023 in battle with the occupiers near the village of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhia region. The defender was forever 29 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Velyka Vyska, Kirovohrad region. In 2010, he enrolled in the Ukrainian Polytechnic College in Kryvyi Rih, where he obtained the qualification of electromechanical technician and miner. From September 2013, he worked at the Novokosteantynivska mine in the Kirovohrad region: for 5 years as an underground miner, and from 2019 as a hatch operator. In his free time, he loved to repair cars and spend time with his family. He adored playing with his little daughter Veronika. In January 2023, Serhii was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After training, he was assigned to the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He held the position of a grenade launcher crew member. "Serhii was a true patriot of our country, a good family man. For his friends, he was a loyal comrade who always came to help. For me, he was a reliable shoulder," said the defender's wife Olena. Serhii was buried in the Alley of Honorary Military Burials of the Far Eastern Cemetery in Kropyvnytskyi. At home, his mother, wife and daughter were waiting for him. The paratrooper was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
