- Sergeant Serhii Moroz was killed on August 24, 2023, in battle in the Bakhmut direction of Donetsk region. On September 30, the defender would have turned 47 years old. Serhii was from the city of Shostka, Sumy region. He studied at Shostka Secondary School No. 4. He successfully engaged in entrepreneurial activities - he had a bicycle store "Kruti pedali" and a service center. He also worked as a long-distance driver, traveling across Europe. He was involved in sports and volunteering, read a lot and studied. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the man returned from work abroad and immediately began looking for opportunities to join the army. While he was waiting for a call from the military enlistment office, he volunteered in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. Later, he joined the ranks of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a squad commander - a vehicle commander. For the successful completion of combat missions, he was awarded the insignia of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross". "My husband was where it was difficult. The desire to have time to help was a priority. His words: 'Inside me, I feel that I am where I am needed, because my family is much larger, my family is Ukraine! I met people in whose eyes I saw the same thing that I felt inside! You look around and realize that here it is - the real big Ukrainian family. I am proud that I am Ukrainian!'" - said the wife of the fallen. Serhii was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Lukyanivske Cemetery in Kyiv. The warrior left behind his wife Yevheniia, daughter Diana, and son Mykyta.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
