Serhii V. Panteliuk (Artyst)

Pantelyuk Serhiy Vasylovych (call sign Artist) was born on February 9, 1998, in the village of Byrlivka, Bershad district, Vinnytsia region. Since the 4th grade, he practiced Greco-Roman wrestling and was a candidate for the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine. He graduated from Byrlivka school and later attended the Lviv Lyceum with enhanced military-physical training named after the Heroes of Kruty, and the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Petro Sahaidachny. He was always very cheerful and restless, which is why he received the call sign Artist. After graduation, he held the position of platoon commander in the 1st Separate Tank Brigade and carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. When he returned from rotation in the fall of 2021, he got married. The young couple was to become happy parents in 2022, and they chose a name for their child together. However, a full-scale war began, and Serhiy found himself on the front lines again. On February 25, 2022, Artist managed to call his mother one last time and said that they were successfully fighting the enemies. That day, Serhiy's tank crew engaged in battle with a column of Russian occupiers advancing towards Chernihiv near the village of Rivnopillia. An impact wave from the tank knocked down the company commander, and Serhiy jumped after him and received a serious leg injury himself. The officer was taken to the hospital, but he died at 3:20 a.m. on February 26. It was at that moment that his only daughter, whom he had been eagerly awaiting, was born. The hero was buried in his native village in Vinnytsia region. Serhiy is survived by his parents, brother, wife, and newborn daughter.
