Serhii V. Pavychych (Hrim)

27-year-old special forces soldier Serhii Pavychych (call sign Thunder) was killed on December 4, 2023. While carrying out a combat mission, the warrior sustained fatal injuries. The senior soldier made his final stand near the village of Malynivka in the Zaporizhia region. Serhii was born in Novoukrainka, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from local school No. 4. He then studied to become a railway worker in Horishni Plavni. Later, he was drafted for military service, where he acquired the military specialty of a scout. After demobilization, he worked as a locomotive assistant at the Pomichna locomotive depot of the Odesa Railway. Recently, he was a long-distance truck driver. During the full-scale war, Serhii joined the ranks of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Serhii was always positive, with a constant smile on his face. A caring, good son, husband and father to his elder son, and unfortunately, he did not see his younger one," his wife Yana said. The defender was buried in the Alley of Heroes cemetery in Novoukrainka, Kirovohrad region. Serhii is survived by his wife Yana, sons Kyrylo and Davyd, mother Tetiana, father Valentyn, and brother Pavlo. For his service, Senior Soldier Serhii Pavychych was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree and the insignia of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine "Cross of the Special Operations Forces".
