Serhii V. Romanchuk (Navi)

27-year-old senior soldier Serhiy Romanchuk (call sign Navi) was killed on June 1, 2022, near the village of Pokrovske in Donetsk region. He sustained fatal injuries while carrying out a combat mission. Serhiy was born in the village of Chervona Voloka in the Zhytomyr region. After graduating from Chervonovolotska Secondary School I-III degrees, he studied at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, majoring in "Management." He then worked for some time at the same university as the deputy dean. He also studied in Germany in the same field. He loved sports very much, with football holding a special place in his life. Before the full-scale invasion, he was working and studying in Germany, but after February 24, 2022, he decided to return to his homeland. Later, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to the front. He held the position of a rifleman-paramedic in the 16th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. "Serhiy was a very kind and sincere person. The memory of him will live forever. I and everyone who knew my brother will always remember him as cheerful, full of life, strength, energy, and enthusiasm. We miss him very much; the world has become gray without him," said his sister Ivanka. Serhiy was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents Valentyn Leonidovych and Natalia Fedorivna, his sister Ivanka, and his girlfriend Maria. Posthumously, he was awarded the Order of Courage III class.
