Serhii V. Romaniuk-Khaliavka

Sergeant Serhii Romaniuk-Khalyavka was killed on June 27, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Maloriazantseve in the Luhansk region. An enemy tank shell hit the position where the soldier was with his comrade-in-arms. Both were killed. In July, Serhii was to turn 42 years old. Serhii was born in the city of Valkiv, Kharkiv region. He lived with his family in the village of Kostiv. He worked as a bulldozer operator. He was interested in all types of vehicles and special equipment. He loved to drive a go-kart, even had his own. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donbas. With the start of the full-scale war, Serhii decided to go to the army again. He fought in the ranks of the 25th Separate Airborne Assault Sich Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "He was the best man, father, son, brother. Always smiling, kind, ready to help. A jack-of-all-trades. A person with a big heart," said the deceased's wife Yulia. The defender was buried in his hometown of Valkiv, Kharkiv region. At home, Serhii was awaited by his parents, brother, niece, wife, son and daughter. The girl was born a month before her father's death.
