Serhii V. Rychkov

Sergeant Serhii Rychkov was killed on October 4, 2022 near the village of Nova Kamianka in the Kherson region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of a direct hit of an enemy missile on his BMP. Two days before this, the soldier turned 47 years old. Serhii was born and lived in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. He studied at school No. 33. Then he obtained the profession of a locomotive assistant driver at the local vocational and technical school No. 30. He worked at LLC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih". He devoted his free time to his family. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought for his country in the ranks of the 128th separate mountain assault Zakarpattia brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of BMP driver-mechanic. He fought in the Kherson region, in particular, he participated in the counteroffensive. "He was the best husband and father. He had a sense of humor, a very positive and cheerful person," said the wife of the fallen Oksana. The warrior was buried in the Sector of Honorary Burials of the Central Cemetery in Kryvyi Rih. At home, his wife and daughter were waiting for Serhii. The hero was posthumously awarded the badge "For Merit to the City".
