Serhii V. Semenov (Advokat)

43-year-old Senior Sergeant Serhii Semenov (call sign Advocate) was killed in April 2022 in the area of the village of Novyi Myr in the Kharkiv region. The exact date of his death is unknown. On April 14, around 10 Ukrainian defenders were surrounded by the enemy and captured. The soldier did not return from there. For a long time, he was considered missing. Serhii was born in Lutsk. He studied at the Kolomyia College of Business and Law and the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. He was married and lived with his family in the village of Veseле. The couple raised two children: daughter Yevheniia and son Dmytro. Until 2018, the man worked as a legal advisor at the Torchyn Vocational Lyceum. He resigned of his own free will and went abroad to earn money, as he wanted to provide a comfortable and happy future for his children. When the full-scale invasion began, Serhii returned home and went to the military enlistment office. On March 15, 2022, he was mobilized into the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He served in the 3rd (Luhansk) Border Guard Unit, holding the position of inspector of the border service of the anti-tank border guard outpost of the rapid response commandant's office "Novopskov". "My husband was a patriot of his country, he loved Ukraine so much that he was ready to die for it! On April 14, 2022, the guys were surrounded and captured. There are witnesses who confirm the captivity of my husband. But soon after the interrogation, the guys were returned one by one, but my husband was left... The guys did not hear a shot. After almost two years of searching, the DNA matched. The body was found with a gunshot wound to the head..." - said Tetiana Semenova. Serhii was buried in November 2022 in Dnipro as an unknown soldier. On February 1, 2024, he was reburied at home - in the village of Veseле in Volyn. His wife, daughter and son did not wait for their defender.
