Serhii V. Shakhrai

Soldier Serhiy Shakhrai was killed in action on May 19, 2022, near the village of Trypillia in Donetsk region. He received a fatal shrapnel wound to the head during a battle with the enemy. The defender was 33 years old. Serhiy was born in the village of Pryvilne in Rivne region. He stu at a local school, then obtained a driver's qualification at Dubno Vocational College. In 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). In civilian life, he worked at the agricultural firm "Agro-Classik." During the full-scale Russian invasion, he went to defend his homeland again as part of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman, which was already familiar to him. He was a tank commander. "We will never forget the heroism of our defenders! Your feats will remain forever in the memory of the Ukrainian people!" stated the Rivne Regional State Administration. Serhiy was buried in his native village. He is survived by his mother, wife, and daughter.
