Serhii V. Shevchuk

Fighter Serhiy Shevchuk was killed on November 15, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. The warrior was 36 years old. Serhiy was born in the village of Shkroby in the Volyn region. He received a secondary education. He worked as a builder. He got married and raised children. In his free time, he loved to fish. He adored Volyn and his native land. He enjoyed riding sleds with his children. He was passionate about football. He dreamed of having his own house and peace in his homeland. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in a unit of airborne assault troops. He was a grenadier. "The black bird has flown over our community again and settled in the village of Shkroby, unfortunately... Unspeakable pain grips our hearts, it is difficult to find words for the relatives... Becoming an Angel, hold our sky there, Serhiy... Eternal rest and memory to you, our Hero," wrote a fellow villager, Lyudmyla Moroz. The defender was buried in his native village. Serhiy is survived by his parents, brothers, sister, wife, and two children.
