Serhii V. Shvets

Born on May 23, 1971, in the city of Kyiv. Graduated from high school in the city of Kyiv. Served mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a squad commander of the 6th Air Assault Company of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0281, city of Zhytomyr). Participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Sergeant Shvets sustained serious injuries near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. He was treated in a military hospital in the city of Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro), where he died without regaining consciousness from his injuries on June 12, 2015. Buried at the Lisove Cemetery in Kyiv.
