Serhii V. Solodovnik (Tykhon)

38-year-old soldier Serhii Solodovnyk (call sign Tykhon) was killed on July 15, 2023 in a battle near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. The defender came under enemy mortar fire and received fatal shrapnel wounds. Serhii was born in the village of Oleksandrivka, Mykolaiv region. He obtained a higher education at the Mykolaiv National Agrarian University. He worked in the construction industry. He was married and raised his sons Yehor and Rostyslav, to whom he devoted all his free time. During the full-scale war, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his homeland. He served in the ranks of the 22nd separate mechanized brigade, where he was a rifleman-medic. "My Serhii is the best man, the best father, the best son in the world. Care, attention, sensitivity and hard work have always been inherent in him. I am very grateful to fate and the Lord that he was my husband. We miss him very much and love him very much," shared Olena Solodovnyk. Serhii was buried in his native village. At home, he was awaited by his mother, wife and two sons. The soldier was posthumously awarded the Combat Cross badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
