Serhii V. Stetsenko

Fighter Sergei Stecenko of the 54th Brigade was killed in action on March 28, 2022, in battles near the town of Mar'inka, Donetsk region. Sergei was born in the city of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region. He graduated from the local technical school No. 42, obtained the profession of a welder. Then he worked in construction. After his military service, he moved to Poltava region, where he lived for 10 years. There he stu at the agricultural technical school. He got married. Later he returned to his hometown and got a job as a thermistor at the "Energomashspetsstal" enterprise, where he worked for 20 years. When the full-scale war began, Sergei initially helped his son-border guard and other military personnel as a volunteer. Then he decided to join the defense of the country himself. Thus, the man ended up in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. The last time he communicated with his relatives was on March 27, 2022. He called his wife. "Before that, there was no contact with him for two days. On March 27, Sergei called for literally a second, said: 'I'm alive, I'll call when I can.' I asked: 'How are things there?'. He said: 'It's very bad here,'" Sergei's wife Natalia told reporters. The next day, Sergei stopped communicating. Natalia began to look for him and a week later found out that her husband had on March 28 as a result of an explosion, and his body was in the morgue in the city of Dnipro. The defender was buried in his native Kramatorsk. Sergei is survived by his wife and two sons.
