Serhii V. Syrotenko (Tretii)

In 1995, Serhiy Vasylovych graduated from the 11th grade of a general education school, and in 1999, he completed a separate faculty of the internal troops of the National Academy of Border Guard Troops of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky. Then, until 2004, he served in the military in officer positions in the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (his last place of service was the Cherkasy Separate Battalion of the Northern Territorial Command of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine). He subsequently lived and worked in Cherkasy. In May 2014, he voluntarily joined the military reserve of the National Guard of Ukraine, where he held the position of deputy commander of a company for educational work as a senior lieutenant in reserve. On February 16, 2015, he was re-enlisted as called up for military service by mobilization, and from June 23, 2016, he served under contract in the positions of company commander and deputy battalion commander. Since June 2014, he has been performing service and combat tasks in the area of the anti-terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine, participating in battles near Artemivsk, Popasna, Ilovaisk, Debaltseve, and Shyrokyne. At the initiative and under the leadership of Captain Syrotenko, an enemy infantry fighting vehicle BMP-2 and several caches of ammunition were captured in Shyrokyne. He was awarded the departmental incentive badge of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine "Firearm."
