- 44-year-old Captain Serhiy Tyahiy (call sign Skif) was killed on May 11, 2023 near the village of Krynydivka in the Sumy region. During the performance of a combat mission, he was hit by an enemy Shahed drone. Serhiy was born in Feodosia, Crimea, in a military family. Since 2000, he lived in Uzhhorod. He received a military education at the Odesa Institute of Land Forces. Until 2005, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In civilian life, he did not shy away from any work, loved technical innovations and learned to apply them in everyday life. He was one of the best masters of his craft - he made autonomous heating, installed plumbing and solar panels. He had many friends and acquaintances. In 2006, he got married and later became the father of a son and a daughter. On the second day of the full-scale war, on February 25, 2022, the man joined the ranks of the 101st separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Initially, he was a platoon commander in the 68th battalion, and later he headed a company. In April 2022, he was awarded the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine". "Serhiy was an honest person, like a ray of sunshine among the clouds. He always came to help... You are our guardian angel! We all miss you so much... You are our brave Hero, who will forever remain in our memory. A loving husband, the best father of wonderful children, the best friend with a capital letter, the best employee, an expert in his field! We mourn for you," his wife wrote. The officer was buried in Uzhhorod. Serhiy is survived by his parents Valentyna and Vasyl, his wife Tetiana, son Andrii, daughter Olha, sister Natalia, as well as other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
