Serhii V. Tsyhanenko

Soldier Serhii Tsyhanenko (call sign Tsyhan) died on April 21, 2023 near the village of Dyliivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the warrior received a fatal explosive injury. He was 48 years old. Serhii was born in the city of Radekhiv in the Lviv region, and lived in the village of Novi Biliiary in the Odesa region. He worked as a section mechanic at LLC "Delta Wilmar Ukraine". In his free time, he loved working with metal. During the full-scale war, he joined the defense of Ukraine as part of the 126th separate brigade of the territorial defense. He held the position of operator of the 3rd self-propelled artillery battery of the 1st self-propelled artillery division. "We were waiting for dad on vacation for the graduation of our younger daughter. The husband has never been on vacation, so we hoped to see him at the celebration. But, unfortunately... Serhii was calm and balanced, he could tame even the fiercest life storm, he could always assure me that there are no hopeless situations and everything can be resolved. He loved working with metal, he arranged a mini-forge at home. But he couldn't earn money on it - he gave everything to his relatives, acquaintances, and his daughter at school. He couldn't take money for his products. He loved life, adored us with his daughters," said his wife Svitlana. The defender was buried in the city of Yuzhne in the Odesa region. Serhii is survived by his wife and two daughters. The warrior was posthumously awarded the honorary distinction "For Merits to the Yuzhne City Territorial Community".
