Serhii V. Tymoshenko

43-year-old Senior Sergeant Serhiy Tymoshenko was killed on October 2, 2022, during the liberation of the Kherson region from Russian occupiers. The defender in battle for the village of Davydiv Brid during an enemy mortar shelling. Serhiy was born in the village of Losiatyn in the Kyiv region and stu at the local gymnasium. He obtained a profession as a chef-pastry chef at the Bila Tserkva Technical College. He did not work in his specialty and was engaged in entrepreneurial activities in the furniture industry. From 2014 to 2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas. He was wounded during the fighting. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, Senior Shooter Serhiy Tymoshenko took up the defense of Ukraine again, serving in the ranks of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. Together with his comrades, he defended Kyiv and the Kyiv region. He participated in the liberation of Hostomel and Bucha. After the liberation of Kyiv region, as part of the 46th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, he set out to liberate Kherson region. In August, he was wounded. However, after treatment, he returned to his comrades, but this time his last battle awaited him. "It is very sad that true Heroes give their lives for Ukraine while some 'men' run around the city spreading betrayal. Kum, you are a true warrior and patriot. Just as in 2014, this year you did not hesitate to stand up for your Motherland, but unfortunately, you paid the highest price for it — your life," wrote his friend Anna. "He stood up for his Motherland at the very start of the Russian aggression in 2014. And with the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he took up arms again. He was wounded, and after recovering, he resumed service at the front... We express our sincere condolences to the parents, relatives, loved ones, and friends regarding this irreparable loss," noted the Losiatyn Gymnasium. The defender was buried in his native village. Serhiy is survived by his parents, wife, and son.
