- Soldier Serhii Vereshchynskyi (call sign Brother) was killed on June 20, 2023 near the city of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. During a combat mission, he came under enemy mortar fire and received fatal injuries. The following month, on July 10, the warrior would have turned 37 years old. Serhii was from the village of Bohdanivka in the Mykolaiv region. He graduated from a rural secondary school of I-III levels. In peacetime, he worked as a construction worker. He loved his family and was a reliable support for them. During the full-scale war, on February 25, 2023, the man was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Serhii served in the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, holding the position of a grenadier. As part of his unit, he defended the Luhansk region. "From almost the first days of service, my uncle was on the front lines, carrying out combat missions, although he had no military experience. According to the command and his comrades-in-arms, he learned quickly, was courageous and brave, was a man of his word, a man of strength and resilience. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he steadfastly held his positions. His comrades knew Serhii as a kind, caring person with a big heart," wrote the deceased's niece Victoria. "We grew up together. Serhii was a wonderful person with an incredibly kind heart. Everyone loved him very much, and his comrades-in-arms respected him. He saved more than one life on the battlefield, pulled more than one wounded comrade-in-arms from under fire and provided first aid. We all miss him very much, for us it is a great loss," said his other niece Nina. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. Serhii left behind brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
