Serhii V. Voitovych (Dok, Medyk)

41-year-old junior sergeant Serhii Voitovych (call sign Doc, Medic) was killed on September 11, 2023 in the area of the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. A group of Ukrainian defenders was leaving their position when enemy mortar shelling began, as a result of which the soldier suffered a fatal wound. Serhii was born in Lutsk. He lived in Novovolynsk in Volyn for 20 years. He graduated from the Torchyn Vocational Lyceum. In civilian life, he worked as a construction worker and a long-distance driver. He loved to fish and spend time with his children and family. When the full-scale Russian invasion began, the man was working abroad on construction. He immediately left his job and returned to his homeland. Later, he joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 14th Operational Purpose Brigade "Chervona Kalyna". He was a combat medic. "We lived 20 happy years with Serhii... It is painful to realize that he has left us. He was a patriot of his country and loved Ukraine so much that he went to war without hesitation. He was a man of his word, who was always able to support and give advice. For his comrades-in-arms, he was both a father and a friend. He told his son that he must love Ukraine and that he must grow up to be a real Cossack..." - said the wife of the fallen Tetiana. The National Guardsman was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in Novovolynsk. Serhii is survived by his wife, daughter and son.
