Serhii V. Yefremenko

Master Sergeant Serhiy Yefremenko was killed on June 6, 2022, in the village of Toshkivka, Luhansk region. The 47-year-old defender received fatal mine-explosive injuries and a gunshot fragmentation wound. Serhiy was born in the village of Kryakivka, Luhansk region. In childhood, he moved with his family to Kirovohrad region. He stuwas killed at Haidoronska secondary school No. 5, then graduated from Haidoronskyi machine-building technical school majoring in "Welding production technology". He worked as an auto electrician. After serving in the army, he returned to work. In 2014, he went to serve in the mobilization to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in the ATO. From 2016, he served under contract in various military units. Since 2020, he has been serving in the 42nd separate motorized infantry battalion of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kostiantyn Gordiienko. As part of this unit, the defender met the full-scale war. In February 2022, Sergeant Serhiy Yefremenko was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree. However, he did not have time to receive it, as he was always on the front line. "Sergeychik, you were a faithful friend, a good neighbor, always came to the rescue. You were an example for many. Brave, hot-tempered, uncompromising... You gave the most precious - your life. For all of us, this is a great loss," wrote his friend Olena Vityuk. "In this war, the best often die. Serhiy was one of them. A wonderful kum - always took care of his goddaughter. A reliable friend - never let anyone down. A good husband - faithfully loved his wife and was ready to do everything to make her happy. A caring father for his only son. A loving son for his mother - a wonderful hostess, before whose virtues I bow my head," wrote the kum of the defender Viktor Deliurman. The defender was buried in the city of Haidoronska, Kirovohrad region. Serhiy left behind his mother, wife, and son.
