- Sergiy Yefymenko (call sign Yefym), a TRO fighter, was killed on March 4, 2023, in the area of the settlement of New York in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received an explosive-fragmentation wound during an enemy mortar attack. The warrior was 29 years old. Sergiy was born in the village of Myroniвka, Kharkiv region. He studied at Krasnopavlivska School No. 1. Then he entered the Kharkiv Industrial and Pedagogical College. He obtained the qualification of a production training master and an electrical technician. In the summer of 2019, he was drafted for military service. He served in the airborne troops in the Zhytomyr region. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the territorial defense and began to defend his native Kharkiv region. He was a rifleman of the 124th separate battalion of the TRO of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, as part of the unit, he carried out combat missions in other directions of the front, in particular in the Donetsk region. "A sincere patriot who loved and knew the history of the state, creative, dreamy, had many different hobbies. At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Sergiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was courageous, strong, and fearlessly went into battle. He loved his family, respected his parents, and was their support. From early childhood, we had very wonderful and friendly relations, which remained so until the end. Although Sergiy did not have his own children, he fully gave his love to his nephews, whom he loved very much. He was a person who could always be relied upon. He will forever remain in memory as a kind, sincere, fair, courageous, purposeful, and smiling guy," said the fighter's sister Natalia. The defender was buried in his native village. Sergiy is survived by his parents, sister, nephews, friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
