Serhii V. Yurchyk

Yurcyk Serhii Viktorovych was born on September 8, 1990 in the village of Ivanky, Mankivka district, Cherkasy region. He started his career as a lawyer at the Mankivka District State Administration of Cherkasy region. He worked as a lawyer in the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration for a long time. In 2015-2016, he worked as an assistant to the Deputy Head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration. He was a lawyer at the municipal institution "Cherkasy Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine" and at the Communal Non-Profit Enterprise "Zolotonosha Multidisciplinary Hospital". He headed the Cherkasy Regional Fund for Supporting Individual Housing Construction in Rural Areas, LLC "ESPO-CONSULTING", the legal department at LLC "Svit Lasoshchiv" and the Health Department of the Executive Committee of the Smila City Council. On April 28, 2022, he was called up for military service under general mobilization. During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he held the position of platoon commander of the 13th battalion of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. On June 30, 2022, the platoon under the command of Serhii Yurcyk took part in repelling the enemy's assault, which had an advantage in manpower and equipment. Junior Lieutenant Serhii Viktorovych Yurcyk was seriously wounded during the battle. To preserve the lives of the platoon's personnel, he ordered the surviving servicemen to withdraw, while he remained to cover their retreat.
