- 46-year-old senior soldier Serhii Tkachuk (call sign "Flag") died on July 21, 2023, near the settlement of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery and tank shelling. Serhii was born in the village of Manevychi, Volyn region. He studied at Manevychi School No. 1. He then graduated from Manevychi Vocational School, where he obtained the specialty of tractor-machine operator. He worked at Manevychi Correctional Colony No. 42. In April 2015, he was mobilized for 1.5 years, where he received the status of a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). In October 2020, he signed a one-year contract and returned to the East, to the territory of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). During the full-scale war, at the end of February 2022, the man without hesitation went to the military enlistment office and returned to service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a medic in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. "My husband was responsible for his role in the war. And he often said: 'I'd better go than my son.' He often liked to say that he was lucky, so that I wouldn't worry, everything would be fine," said Natalia Tkachuk. Serhii was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in his native Manevychi.
