Serhii Yu. Budko (Okhotnik)

Soldier Serhii Budko (call sign Okhotnik) was killed on August 29, 2022 during an offensive near the village of Ivanivka in the Kherson region. The fighter received fatal shrapnel wounds as a result of enemy shelling. A month before his death, he turned 36 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Serhiivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. He lived in Kryvyi Rih. He graduated from the Faculty of Information Technologies of Kryvyi Rih National University. In peacetime, he was engaged in farming. He worked as a combine harvester operator and a long-distance driver. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man could not remain on the sidelines and voluntarily went to the front. He served in the 129th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a rifleman of the 239th battalion. "A courageous man who went to defend the Motherland from the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation," said the deceased's wife Alina. The territorial defense fighter was buried in the Alley of Glory of the central cemetery in Kryvyi Rih. At home, his wife and two daughters were waiting for Serhii. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
