- 39-year-old soldier Serhii Devdiuk (call sign Hutsulyk, Solovei) died on August 9, 2023 in a hospital in Lviv. On June 13, the warrior received severe shrapnel wounds during offensive actions in the area of the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. Serhii was born in Kosiv, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He lived in Buchach, Ternopil region. He graduated from the Otyniya Vocational School. He was a mason-builder by profession, worked in Poland, and took an active part in the life of the Ukrainian community in Warsaw. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the defenders. He held the position of a rifleman-medic in the assault platoon of the assault company of military unit A4640. He was engaged in volunteer activities. He donated many books for the military. He attended the Greek Catholic Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in Warsaw. Serhii was a member of the "Uniters" team - a "Super Elf" who supported the "Holiday without Dad" campaign. He was also part of the "Public Initiative for the Care of the Graves of the UNR Warriors" team. The war caught Serhii abroad. On February 25, 2022, he left Warsaw for Kyiv to defend Ukraine as a volunteer. In April, he returned home, but not for long. In early July, he was called up and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For two months, he fought for his life in the intensive care units of hospitals in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kyiv, and Lviv. On August 9, 2023, in the intensive care unit of the St. Panteleimon Hospital in Lviv, Serhii was killed due to a sharp deterioration of his condition and cardiac arrest. Serhii was buried in Buchach, Ternopil region. At home, he was awaited by his wife and two children. Posthumously, the defender was awarded the Cross of Honor and Glory and the badge of the Buchach City Mayor "Blood for Ukraine".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
