Serhii Yu. Moroz (Sieroha)

35-year-old senior soldier Serhii Moroz was killed on February 13, 2023 in the area of the village of Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received a fatal injury during a mortar shelling. Serhii was born in the village of Krasnokutsk, Kharkiv region. After graduating from the local school No. 2, he studied at the Krasnokutsk Vocational Agricultural Lyceum, where he obtained the specialty of tractor-machine operator. Later, he graduated from the Kharkiv Machine-Building College with a specialty in "Design and Production of Turbine Installations". He worked as an electrician in the distribution networks of the Krasnokutsk REM. He was passionate about football, played for the local team, and had significant achievements. In 2020, the man went on a contract military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Otaman Ivan Sirko. He held the position of senior driver-operator of the anti-tank missile squad. As part of his brigade, he met the enemy near Chuhuiv in the Kharkiv region on February 24, 2022. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he drove the occupiers out of his native region. The last month he served as part of the motorized infantry squad of the motorized infantry platoon of the motorized infantry company of the 22nd Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. Comrades-in-arms say that for two years they tried to come up with a call sign for him, but he remained Seriozha. "It is very difficult to write about him. Serhii was an example of a real man for me. He was a reliable rear and support! In any situation, under any conditions, he helped others, no matter how difficult it was for him. This is a great loss for all his relatives and friends, which left a deep wound in the heart," the warrior's wife said. Comrades-in-arms said that Serhii was the best of the best, it was not scary to go into battle with him, he was always in a positive mood, despite all the difficulties. Comrades were proud to fight shoulder to shoulder with Serhii. The defender was buried in his native village in the Kharkiv region. At home in Serhii, his wife Olena and son Akym from a previous marriage were waiting.
