- Paratrooper Serhiy Syshchuk was killed in action on July 12, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Dolyna in Donetsk region. In August, the defender was to turn 20 years old. Serhiy was born and raised in the city of Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi region. In 2017, he graduated from Slavuta Comprehensive School No. 1. In 2020, he graduated from Slavuta Professional Lyceum with a specialty in "Auto Mechanic, Electric and Gas Welder". He received a driver's license category B and C. In the spring of 2021, the young man voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, holding the position of driver-medic. Since autumn, he has been performing combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas. During his service, he was awarded the breastplate "For Exemplary Service", the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine". During the full-scale Russian invasion, Serhiy continued to defend Ukraine from the occupiers. "He was always a positive, patriotically-minded young man," said Natalia, the mother of the deceased. "The memory of Serhiy, who, without sparing his life, went to fight against the Russian occupier as a volunteer, will forever remain in our hearts. We are indebted to the Hero. We will cherish the bright memory of You, Serhiy. We will remember every defender who paid the highest price for peace and tranquility in our state. Heroes do not die, but forever inscribe their name in the history of Ukraine!", noted in the Slavuta City Council. The fighter was buried in his hometown. At home, Serhiy's parents were waiting for him. Posthumously, soldier Serhiy Syshchuk was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
