Stanislav A. Korniienko (Karbid)

Stanislav Korniienko (call sign Carbide), a scout, was killed on February 23, 2024 near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. In the battle with the occupiers, he suffered a fatal explosive injury. The defender was 28 years old. Stanislav was born in the village of Huliaihородок in the Cherkasy region. He lived in the village of Chornyavka. In 2012, he graduated from the Dumanets secondary school. In 2013, he graduated from the Irkliiv Professional Agrarian Lyceum. Later, he was drafted for military service, from which he was discharged in 2015. For some time, he worked at PJSC "Azot". At the time of the full-scale invasion, he was working in Poland. However, he decided to return home and defend his homeland. In August 2022, Stanislav joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 61st Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was a senior scout in the reconnaissance platoon of the 20th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion. During his service, Stanislav received the awards "For the Defense of the Native State", "Veteran of War", and "For the Sacrifice of Blood in the Battles for the Freedom of Ukraine". "The most beautiful person in my life. He was not only a good husband, friend, son, brother, and comrade, but also a person who taught me to live with love, trust, as well as in protection and security. I love you, my darling," wrote his wife Ruslana. The hero was buried in his native village. Stanislav is survived by his parents, wife, brother, and sister.
